Really? They CG'd a friggin' pile of snow at the characters' feet? Now that's just kicking the prop dept. in the pants. IT'S A PILE OF SNOW! It's white and gets stepped on! Why does that require a computer? Goddamn Hollywood.
These things have been apparent to me for a long time now, it's just the way the business works, and I'm still able to enjoy the finished products just fine. I'm not quite sure why this is such a big deal to some people :/
Not surprising. My girlfriend's sister works on a couple of shows and always shoots me down when I say hey, I wanna go see where they filmed such and such scene of such and such show. Its a lot less expensive to green screen than it is to shoot on locations, having to deal with permits and whatnot, especially for weekly shows. It gives them a lot more control over the setting and environment too.
