It's an obvious progression of comics. The better the hardware to read them on the better the transition is going to be.
Paper is just a technological advancement, from drawing on walls.
Digital paper is an awesome advancement.
It's going to come down to price point really quick though. Digital comics are going to have to compete with webcomics, and many of those are free. Long live the www.
