It's kind of fun how movie trends seem to go in cycles doing:
Fantasy (mid 80ies: Willow, Blue Bubbles) Superheroes (early 90ies Batman, Superman) SciFi ( mid90ies starwars, Terminator, Fift Element, Indepencence Day, AI etc) Swords and Sandals (late 90ies, Troy, Gladiator, Alexander) Fantasy (early 90ies LOTR, Pirates of the Caribeans) Superheroes (mid 90ies Xmen, Spiderman, Batman, Superman etc) SciFi (late 09ies Avatar, Watchmen, StarTrek...) Swords and Sandals (Early tens, Clash of the Titans, The Odyssey, God of War, Julius Caesar - and perhaps a Xena movie)
Still, I seem to be the only one who miss the good old cop movies. You know with the odd cople being partnered up and put in a police car and then drive around bithcing at each other, shooting drug dealers, brteaking rules, annoying bosses until they are on the edge of being suspended - and then WHAM BAM they solve the BIG case like with a snap of the fingers. Why don't they make these movies anymore? Is it just because you don't need special effects to make them work, but rather awesome actors and a great storyline
Man, this looks freaking awesome. I have to change my pants every time I see a new trailer! 2010 is going to be a big year for sword & sandal flicks, with this, The Eagle of the Ninth, and Centurion all coming out. Hell, I kinda even want to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians!
Its so funny you brought this up. Im a huge fan of the old Clash of the Titans movie made in 1981 (which btw im watching as i type) and i seen the poster for the new one while waiting in line to watch Avatar in 3D, and I want to see this new one. The trailer looks good.
